Melbourne Fashion Week: Gorman

by renuka on March 21, 2011

Gorman was probably the show that most caught my eye and captured my imagination with their Nepalese-inspired extension on last seasons animal and tribal prints. Woven belts and pom-poms in electric colours decorated layered, ethnic-influenced prints in raw silk. My personal favourite of all the prints, is the one donned by Lisa Gorman herself at the show, and the shoes covered in it.

The orange and black pola-dot print came out as the show-stopper (orange being the colour on everyone’s runway this season), adding a touch of something a little more classic into the mix (it reminded me of the brown and white polka dot dress Julia Roberts wore on the polo field in Pretty Woman).

The beautiful Lisa Gorman looks on and seems happy with the collection.

Love these colour combinations. Bought a vintage belt the other day which could have come straight out of this collection. Time to add some colour to the wardrobe!
